Biatta Information

Biatta is a new type of medication approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes for diabetic patients. It is manufactured and marketed by Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Incorporation and Eli Lilly and Company. Biatta is an incretin mimetic, which has glucoregulatory effects. While this drug is used alone, it can also be combined with other medications such as metformin, pioglitazone and sulfonylureas. This medication is injected twice per day using a specially designed pen. Typical human responses to Byetta plus eating include improvements in the initial rapid release of internal insulin, suppression of glucagon release by the pancreas, and reduced appetite; all behaviors more typical of individuals without blood sugar control problems. The response to Byetta is further augmented when the blood sugar is more elevated yet there are negligible problems with glucose levels going too low, as with the sulfonylureas or insulins.

Treatment with Byetta and Generic Infromation

The rapid increase in the prevalence of diabetes and the need for innovative treatments has never been more critical than it is today. Many patients with type 2 diabetes are struggling hard to control their blood sugar and, even with current oral therapies, find that they cannot reach their treatment goals. Biatta provides an important and novel treatment option for people with type 2 diabetes. This control of blood glucose is likely due to some of the actions of Byetta that are similar to those of the native incretin hormone GLP-1. Clinical trials show that Byetta decreases blood glucose toward normal levels.
